Kristina Leko

Kristina Leko is a visual and participatory artist and activist. She has initiated and realized several extensive community art projects in different countries since the late 1990s. In her interdisciplinary practice, she uses a variety of media spanning from drawing or text to research, from film and exhibition-making to interventions in public space. Her main focus is social interaction and (self)empowerment. Her projects and exhibitions include, among others: MSU Zagreb, Rotor Graz, KIOER Steiermark, The Kitchen New York, NGBK Berlin, Bonner Kunstverein, Secession Vienna, P.S.1 New York, Renaissance Society Chicago, MCA Saint Louis, HdKW Berlin, GfzK Leipzig. Leko teaches social art practice at the Berlin University of the Arts.
