Dobrodošli/Welcome/Willkommen

The performance Dobrodošli/Welcome/Willkommen arose as a spontaneous reaction to the humiliations suffered by citizens of non-EU countries, irrespective of their age, sex, or occupation, during the process of attempting to get a visa at the embassies of the countries they wish or have to travel to. The performer reconstructs the procedure, including numerous irrelevant and indiscreet questions, by issuing visas to visitors of her exhibition based on completed forms. The objective of her first performance in 2007 was to sharply criticise the EU visa policy, whereas in the current political context she calls attention to authorities who blame others, i.e. foreigners, for many mistakes and problems. The consequences of these mistakes, which are mainly made by people in positions of power, are not felt by those in power, but rather exclusively by those who voted for them, having a desire for better things, and not vice versa.
